This spring, artALIVE brings you an after-school class that is all about animals! We will learn about animals from every part of the world, exploring their habitats and behavior through art. In the spirit of conserving nature, we will use primarily recycled materials to make a variety of artwork, including animal collages, sculptures, dioramas, masks, costumes, puppets, and more! Students will collaborate to write stories and perform skits about their animals (a live performance will be open to friends and family on the last day of the course). This is open to elementary schoolers, grades 1-4. You can now signup and register for this class through our website, so don’t miss out!
This class will be taught by Anne Taylor, a local artist living in South Deerfield. She currently holds a K-8 Visual Arts teaching license in Massachusetts, as well as an M.A. in Art History from the University of Oregon. While pursuing her graduate degree, she worked in art education for three years at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, during which she cultivated her love of children, teaching, and multimedia. When she’s not working, Anne may be found taking photographs of the Pioneer Valley, volunteering at the Eric Carle Museum, or hiking with her husband and dog Lucy.
