Kondase keskus on avatud kolmapäevast pühapäevani 10–17.

Mara Ljutjuk tells stories through grotesque while being dead serious; her stories can sometimes be frighteningly straightforward. As a sociable person and a critical introspectionist, Mara is intrigued by what is going on inside and between human beings also in art. Ljutjuk often portrays herself and her family as her models which makes her work even more personal.
For the last five years, Ljutjuk has been busy with family and raising children – that is why the theme of her current exhibition is parent-children relations. Since family is supposed to be the so-called elementary particle of society, the games of power and manipulation within family expressed by the artist are open for wider interpretation. At her present exhibition, Mara Ljutjuk presents four paintings that can be recognized by the artist’s use of form and colour.
Mara Ljutjuk: „For the last five years I have become closely acquainted with the saying „blood is thicker than water“. In the beginning there were two of us and now there are four of us. New situations, questions and answers have often been strangely contradictional or unexpected.“
Mara Ljutjuk has obtained BA degree in painting and MA degree in teacher training at the Estonian Academy of Arts. She has participated in exhibitions since 2000 and she is a member of Estonian Artists’ Association and Estonian Painters’ Union.
The exhibition will last until the 10th of January 2015. Kondas Centre is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10 a.m and 5 p.m. There won’t be any formal vernissage, but you are welcome to join us and the artist during the finnisage on the 10th of January.
