Bellevue: The 3 P’s of Condominium Construction: Players, Politics & Process

January 10, 2015 at Sheraton Bellevue Hotel in Bellevue, WA.

Every building type has its limitations. Wood frame buildings in the Pacific Northwest typically need significant repairs around the 10- to 15-year mark. Other building types like mid- to high-rise buildings with commercial cladding systems may require significant repairs between 20 and 30 years after they are constructed. The time frames vary but the inevitable truth is that all buildings will undergo a large-scale construction project within the first few decades after they are built.

If you are a condominium owner or manager it is vital for you to know about the people and processes associated with completing a construction project. There are a variety of players you will want on your construction team. Different professionals handle such tasks as legalities, design, financing, project management, construction, and architectural oversight. There are politics such as handling design decisions, impacts to owners, and owner communication. Finally there is a process for wading through a construction project and keeping your head high above water. Do so by becoming more knowledgeable about the decisions that have to be made during construction. Please join us for a presentation and panel discussion conducted by four of the major construction team players including a design professional, attorney, lender, and community association manager.
